ABSTRACT

The term ethics regularly tends to get tacked on to societal implications research, yet it gets very little direct attention. Although often mentioned in passing in articles and presentations on societal implications, the discussion is apt to either lack depth or swing to the academic extreme of being too conceptually dense to be of use in normal discussion. A language that is impenetrable to the average person is simply not likely to get used much. Yet, we do speak the language of ethics on a daily basis. Most of us simply don’t realize we are doing so.
