ABSTRACT
Among the possible nanowires and nanotubes, the most work, experimental and theoretical, has been
done on carbon nanotubes.
These tubes come in a variety of experimental systems:
1. Single-wall tubes, consisting of a single layer of graphite wrapped into a cylinder. It can be either a
metallic conductor or a semiconductor. Only recently have transport measurements been done on
single-wall tubes.
