ABSTRACT
Active filters consist of only amplifiers, resistors, and capacitors. Complex roots are achieved by the use of feedback eliminating the need for inductors. The gain of the amplifier can be finite or infinite (an op-amp). This section describes active filters using low-gain or finite-gain amplifiers. Filter design equations and examples will be given along with the performance limits of low-gain amplifier filters.
