In the large-scale industry (LSI) manufacturing process, the wet process that uses ultrapurified
water and chemicals increasingly plays an important role even today when devices are becoming
more integrated, more sophisticated, and more reliable. Because the plasma process, which is
extensively used in microfabrication, has less control in preventing the damage to surface of
solids now, the wet processes are added on for each dry process.
