ABSTRACT
As discussed in Chapter 2, linear estimation is a crucial problem in a number of important applications, amongwhich the search for optimal parameters of a filter is particularly relevant. We have also pointed out in Section 2.2 that the project of a filter involves three fundamental steps: to select a suitable structure, to establish a criterion for the filter optimization, and to employ a technique to find the optimal parameters.
