ABSTRACT
Let us hasten to state that by an L-section we mean not only inductances, but that the circuit diagram will have reactive elements drawn at right angles to each other, as in the capital letter “L.” Figure 3.1 shows two basic connections for these two “L’s.” In each of the cases diagrammed above, we have a resistive load that we wish to modify using the matching section to match to a different real impedance. We will find that the first diagram has the effect of matching the load to a larger impedance. The analysis and design are straightforward and quick.
