ABSTRACT
In the last chapter, we examined different mechanisms that have led to the genetic variation that we see in life around us today. In this chapter, we will look at some of the modern technologies that enable us to create genetic variation in the laboratory setting. Humans have been unknowingly experimenting with DNA for thousands of years. For instance, the cross breeding between plants and that between animals are really instances of genetic reshuffling.
