Optical Properties and Optoelectronic Applications of II–VI Semiconductor Heterostructures
Semiconductor heterostructures of II-VI compounds offer a wide range of properties which can be
exploited for fundamental studies and for device applications. We will review recent studies addressing
these issues, emphasizing ZnSe-based structures for blue-green light emitting devices. Other systems,
such as type-II and diluted magnetic semiconductor heterostructures and narrow-gap type-III
heterostructures, will be discussed.
