ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses general and preparatory directions to guide the teacher in preparing to administer the Clymer-Barrett Prereading Battery. It also discusses that the teacher will find the specific directions to be used in the actual giving of the battery. The Clymer-Barrett Prereading Battery is designed so it may be administered in two forms: long form employs all six subtests, takes 3 periods of about 30 minutes each, yields 3 diagnostic subscores and battery total. Short form employs only subtests 1 and 3, takes 1 period of about 30 minutes, yields a single score useful for screening, group placement, etc. The battery may also be given in combinations of the long and short forms. An area for complete pupil identification information is provided on the back cover of the battery.
