ABSTRACT
Many people do not want to even touch a dead body, let alone prepare it for burial. They sometimes shudder at having to be in the same room with a lifeless individual. Taking care of an individual who died and whose body was not discovered for several days can be traumatic. The funeral profession is the funeral directors’ chosen vocation, and it is their responsibility to make the pickups, embalm, prepare the bodies for burial, and conduct the services. Because the funeral directors are in close proximity to sorrow on a regular basis, there are certain qualities that are demanded of them in order for them to help the survivors. Most funeral directors strive for perfection in the performance of their professional duties. They usually have a check-off list that assures them of fulfilling all of the tasks required. They have only one opportunity to get everything done properly and in a timely fashion.
