ABSTRACT

The author lost his life in a war zone. The air was so thick with oil fire smoke, pesticides, and radioactive dust that even after half of the oil fires were extinguished, months after he arrived, the baby’s incubator filters were black after only six hours of use. The ailment that came home with me has permitted the repeated agony of being unable to use the skills that were a part of a joyful career. Each news show depicting horrible events that affect children is a reminder that he physically unable to help where he might have in the past. We learned from adolescents who testified in court that someone who had the good experience and protection of positive action during a traumatic experience can be traumatized by seeing pictures of mutilation.
