ABSTRACT

In 1994, the author documented the situation of Rwandan refugees in Goma, Zaire for the UN. Later, he went to Rwanda to document the returning refugees. He saw the unaccompanied children in Goma, who had either lost their parents or been separated from them. During my therapy, the doctor had tried to bring out all that he had bottled up inside him for the past several years, being a witness to genocide, wars, and the plight of refugees. Photography was not a job for him. In many ways, it was a way of life since he got into photojournalism after being in love with photography. He felt that the best way to express my creative photography was by telling a story about other human beings.
