ABSTRACT

Nobody wants to be forgotten. This is one important assumption we keep in mind when speaking with those who are approaching death. We have briefly introduced how narrative ideas impact on connections with the dead for those whose loved one has died and will elaborate further on this in subsequent chapters. There is a certain common sense in supporting the practice of remembering for those who live on. But what about for those who are facing death? How can we speak with them about ongoing membership? How can remembering conversations be helpful for a person who is about to die?
