What Do You Do When the Ground Beneath Your Feet Shifts?
What do you do when institutional and economic forces produce seismic shifts
in what appeared to be a stable and growing online technical communication
program? In this chapter, we propose to answer that question and to explicate
the evolution of the design, delivery, and assessment of a second-generation
online program and its courses as a way to survive the shaky ground of the
“new austerity” faced by the academy.
