ABSTRACT
Hypnotic suicide rehearsal also involves constant reframing of visualized images, but in a fashion that reintroduces the true reality of the situation at hand and hopefully acts as a deterrent to the proposed, often impulsive, course of action. In the technique of Hypnotic Suicide Rehearsal, the client is directs to seriously consider all the eventual ramifications of the contemplated action. It is important to point out that Hypnotic Suicide Rehearsal is not suitable for all patients contemplating suicide. Imagery education and hypnosis have effectively employed to deal with death anxiety, grieving for the loss of a loved one, and resolution of “unfinished business.” Heterohypnosis and self–hypnosis have describes as being of significant therapeutic benefit in resolving grief relating to the death of a loved one.
