ABSTRACT

Health education classes, with realistic and dynamic programs of instruction can serve as effective deterrents to drug use by students. In the effective health education setting, decisions can be made by young people to live their lives in a satisfying manner without employing synthetics as a mode of life. A positive quantitative and qualitative analysis offers hope for the educational process as the positive affector of wise decision-making by both students and teachers alike. The school as one of the oldest social institutions is in a position to help young people to find positive direction for their lives. Education per se must hold a deeper meaning for each person than the acquisition of cognitive skills. Possession of information alone is self-defeating to the central purposes of education.
