ABSTRACT

Edward and I spent our weekends together from that evening on. My parents were used to my passing a lot of time with Claudine and Dermit, and therefore didn’t suspect anything when I told them that I was going with my friends to the Eastern Townships. In between these weekends together, Edward and I started seeing one another a couple of times a week, so that my parents were finally able to meet him. My mother and father were both completely captivated by him and were especially impressed by his quiet, gracious, and well-bred manner. He was totally different from anyone else in our family, particularly the men, and Edward was the first man I dated who my parents didn’t find anything to criticize about.
