ABSTRACT
3Supervisors have the power and privilege and therefore the responsibility to deliberately initiate conversations about cultural diversity. Supervision should be “a deliberate educational process” with teaching and learning strategies that are proactive, purposeful, and intentional (Borders, 2001, pp. 417–418). The core competencies listed below, and throughout this chapter, are based upon these premises.
