ABSTRACT

The Multicultural Relational Perspective Supervision Outcome Tools are designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills, commitment, and qualities of supervisors and supervisees toward the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of both supervision and clinical practice from a multicultural relational perspective. From the multicultural relational perspective, self-reflection and self-interrogation are critical components of effective supervision and clinical practice. The measures included in the tools provide an opportunity for supervisors and supervisees to consider/assess their multicultural knowledge, knowledge of self and self in relation to other, commitment/motivational skills, administrative/training skills and/or competency. Specifically, the sections of measure focus on the assessment of supervision/ practice from the perspective of the supervisor/supervisee, the supervisory/therapeutic relationship/process, evaluation of supervision and the supervisor’s/therapist’s style of supervision/therapy. Each of the sections includes a brief introduction and scoring instructions. Definitions of selected key terms of the Multicultural Relational Perspective may be found at the end of this chapter.
