ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the previous chapters of this book. By using a mixed methods approach, the book was able to quantify the framing of news coverage as well as contextualize those results and learn more about why coverage looks the way(s) that it does via in-depth interviews. The book summarizes the quantitative content analysis of news stories and qualitative in-depth interview findings, and discusses the implications of those results. It provides recommendations for the anti-trafficking community and journalists moving forward. The book uses sex trafficking as a window into how news media in two countries represent human rights abuses and frame social problems.
