ABSTRACT

What happens to combatant women after armed conflict? This chapter argues that the relative dearth of attention towards the post-war experiences of combatant women remains a pressing gap in knowledge. Based on their stories and perspectives, the chapter argues that the ‘post-conflict’ moment as experienced by combatant women represents a continuity of violence, insecurity, and injustice. The latter part of the chapter discusses the epistemological and methodological approaches used, as well as a detailed description of the research process, and the organisation of chapters in the book.
