ABSTRACT

Jay Shaylor is the executive producer of "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer", CNN's flagship two-hour daily newscast covering breaking news, national security, international affairs and politics. Additionally, he helps produce CNN's award-winning election coverage and special events. Since taking the helm in October 2013, he and his team have been nominated for four News and Documentary Emmy Awards. Shaylor is a Peabody, Murrow and Emmy Award-winning journalist. Shaylor received a Master of Science with Honors from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and was awarded a Pulitzer Traveling Fellowship — the school's highest honor. Before becoming a broadcast journalist, Shaylor spent four years leading the marketing and public relations operations of two dot-com companies. He holds a bachelor's degree in American history from the University of Virginia, where he was chosen for one of the university's most prestigious honors: living in one of the Thomas Jefferson-designed student rooms on The Lawn.
