ABSTRACT
The success of every process depends upon the clarity about its future. This comes when there is a clear knowledge about the past and present successes and failures of the process. Similarly, in the case of membranes, it is important to know about their futuristic scope for development in right direction. This chapter explains the future scope of membranes by keeping in mind the present-day demand and developments. It is important to know the base of a problem to come up with a solution in the future. The future growth of membranes is explained in terms of sustainable development by taking the advantages of conventional membranes and processes along with novel progress in the field. This provides the much-needed base, confidence, and scope for the development of future membrane technology. The chapter discusses the future perspectives important for the growth of potential areas of membrane science.
