ABSTRACT
Student engagement is at the heart of a successful distance education learning experience. Accordingly, this chapter includes measures intended to assess student engagement in different types of online learning environments, among different populations of students (e.g., graduate versus undergraduate students). Similarly, student and instructor satisfaction instruments are included in this chapter. Satisfaction and engagement can be related concepts and can also predict a student’s success in a course.
