ABSTRACT

This chapter explores Shigeo Shingo Model and Shingo Guiding principles in greater depth. The Shingo Model's Cultural Enablers dimension includes the following principles: Respect Every Individual, Lead with Humility and Continuous Improvement Dimension. The Shingo Model's Continuous Improvement dimension includes the following principles: seek perfection, embrace scientific thinking, and focus on process, assure quality at the source, flow & pull value, and enterprise alignment dimension. The shingo model's enterprise alignment dimension includes the following principles: think systemically and create constancy of purpose. Respect for individuals, one of the guiding principles of the shingo approach, is also so vital. The Cultural Enablers dimension focuses on two principles that are critical in establishing the culture of any enterprise. The Continuous Improvement dimension dives deeper into the process elements of an organization, such as quality, inventory, flow, problem solving. The principle in this dimension stresses that value needs to be considered from the perspective of the customer, rather than from that of enterprise leadership.
