ABSTRACT
Every dispute between two parties is a contour of facts that requires substantiation. In matters of dispute brought before a third party for adjudication, such substantiation is only possible with the help of evidence. Therefore, all legal systems across the globe in any dispute recognise the need for adducing evidence. This is done in order to accord meaning to the proceedings and provide the parties with an equal and adequate opportunity to present and defend their case.
