ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter, our three colleagues achieved a heightened sense of awareness. Often, this is where organizations start and end when it comes to D&I development. Those “aha” moments are necessary, but they are far from sufficient. This is analogous to your mechanic enlightening you on why your brakes are squeaking. If it stops there, all you have is a story to tell, but no way to avoid the same issues down the road. The whole goal of development should be to improve the outcome. At The Dagoba Group, we completely understand that, whether you are in the C-suite or on the front line, you have more competing priorities than you can count. When development opportunities take you away from your desk for any amount of time, you need an

outcome that goes beyond making you aware of the problem. If you are investing your personal time and organizational resources, you need to realize a measureable return.
