I shared the world’s frustration at the company’s failed attempts at containing the damage; part of me wished I had scaled the building with Greenpeace. But at the same time, the image of BP dominating the headlines-a “scathing portrait of cultural failure,” in the words of the New York Times-did not resemble the BP I had been part of for nine years. It wasn’t my BP.
