ABSTRACT
How can key historical events be portrayed to have the greatest impact in the
immediacy and power of live theater? It is a question of crucial importance if
we as activists, teachers, researchers, students, and artists want to leave this as
part of our legacy. We must find the burning speeches and courageous actions
from the past, draw the connections to current issues, and inspire people to
keep fighting the good fight.1
