ABSTRACT

The main aspect for having a good life and quality of life concern very basic factors, and it is important to reflect on where technology has taken us and where we want to go from now. In the 1970s and 1980s, technology researchers examined the big leaps that were about to come in ICT. When finishing various projects and books over the years, the author often wrapped them up by specifying some desirable goals and visions for the ICT society or computer society. The vision for the ICT society concerns the humanization of life conditions. Internet governance and global governance are necessary in a world that is increasingly more connected and interdependent. The Sustainable Development Goals have action-oriented formulations and address many of the concerns that are valid for the Good ICT Society – some of them are about challenges that must be overcome, such as poverty, hunger, and inequality within and among countries.
