ABSTRACT

Statistical Guide: The most common correlation coefficient is the Pearson r. When its value is positive, it indicates that those who score high on one variable tend to score high on the other. The strength of this tendency is indicated by the value of r. The closer it is to 1.00, the stronger the relationship; the closer it is to 0.00, the weaker it is. Correlation coefficients may also be negative. A negative value indicates that those who tend to be high on one variable tend to be low on the other. The closer the negative value is to -1.00, the stronger the relationship; the closer it is to 0.00, the weaker it is.
