ABSTRACT
It is not unusual for a person's interpretation of the disease to have religious and spiritual dimensions. Every disease has a component of mystery. Why does one smoker get lung cancer and another not? Why does a disease manifest itself at any given time? Why, in fact, do we die? None of these questions yield to totally satisfactory scientific and rational explanations.
