ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how learners of Japanese language go for on a trip/travel. It also shows how the students appropriately accept/decline the invitation when invited to go on a trip with other Japanese for example, host family, language partner, and so on. The chapter explains how students ask their Language partners (LP) for recommendation regarding destination for a trip in Japan. It then discusses where their LP has visited previously in Japan, and which places he/she enjoyed the most and why. By accepting/declining an invitation appropriately, and research popular travel destinations in Japan. The chapter also explores how to plan a trip and listening to travel stories and reporting on a trip. The students should report when they return from a trip, offer the souvenir they have acquired to LP. During travel the students assess the roles and intentions of speakers based on what is said and done and what they can observe about time, place, and the audience involved.
