ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with the program evaluation and review technique and the critical path method, which are complementary techniques that permit rationalization of project execution, which has great importance for physical asset management, namely in the following situations: renewal and periodic stops for global maintenance.
The PERT/CPM tools allow solving the restrictions of the Gantt diagram, and also evaluation of the relation between the duration and the maintenance budget.
Additionally, other extended approaches of these methodologies are also presented, allowing extension of the potential of physical asset management optimization for their various life cycle phases.
