ABSTRACT

The paper is divided into five sections. The first is an overview of the field of English and French bilingual lexicography, with emphasis on the seventeenth century. The second section deals with compilation of the corpus: it presents the dictionaries involved in our study and the sample we selected from them. The third section describes the entire range of our findings: it is here that we deal with the relationship between the works of Miege and Boyer, and show, with examples, their different lexicographical techniques. Section four sums up the discussion with conclusions, and the final section lists relevant works in the field.
