ABSTRACT

The object of the PaYPiRD research is to analyse young people’s perceptions concerning the transition between education and employment. The aim is to evaluate the impact of policies on the social and professional integration of young people living in rural areas. This transition is a complex phenomenon, which has many different dimensions. In order to study this transition and to examine the individual pathways, it is necessary to have a precise knowledge of the employment and education systems. Various other elements that condition this transition must also be analysed, such as the role of local networks, the efficiency of local structures or the impact of local development programmes.
