ABSTRACT
From the Greek κατηγορία, Danish derived Kategori and English derived category. The term has two main meanings in Danish: (1) the distinctly philosophical understanding of category, which originates with Aristotle, meaning the divisions in thought and/or being; and (2) the more common understanding of category as a group of people or things that are arranged together according to common features; definition or concept.1
