ABSTRACT

The Adecco Group has been endeavouring to promote labour market entry for people with disabilities. It made a strategic choice not to set up specialised agencies for the disabled, but to develop support, training and skill-building resources. In its 1,000 branches in France, its staff are able to receive, assess and delegate disabled persons and also heighten its clients' awareness as to how to receive disabled people. The Act of 10 July 1987 made it compulsory for firms in France with 20 or more employees to recruit disabled persons. The psychological barriers are very often felt by the disabled person, who does not dare to go into a temporary work agency or who has a wrong impression of the world of work. As a result, such disabled people have difficulty adapting to the increasingly volatile and demanding world of business.
