ABSTRACT
The opportunity for inter-religious dialogue is something to be welcomed not for the sake of wholesale agreement on all topics, nor finding syntheses which show our traditions at their depths to be really the same thing under different cultural histories. It is, rather, an opportunity for mutual understanding, and the gaining of insight within one’s own tradition by virtue of stepping outside it to reflect on another.
