ABSTRACT

The work of Alexius Meinong's pupil France Veber is based on his classification of psychological experiences, a foundation to which objects are systematically correlated. Veber praised himself for having introduced 'oughts' as objectual correlates to strivings. He postulated several contents of emotional experiences with their distinctive values: hedonic, aesthetic, valua-tive, logical. From these he derived domains of oughts as objectual correlates to strivings underpinning philosophical disciplines such as ethics and aesthetics. Ethics is an investigation of relations between value objects, the dignitatives. France Veber was born 1890 in the town of Radgona, on the Slovene side of the border with Austria. Psychology of experiences is important for an understanding of Veber's work, so it is appropriate to put it at the beginning. Elaborating Meinong on emotions. Veber proposed that emotions have values and non-values of objective nature linked to them, whereas Meinong admitted only personal values and non-values related to emotions.
