ABSTRACT

The chapter is an empirical examination of the behaviour of smaller states in the EU decision-making in the areas of the Common Agricultural Policy and the Regional Policy. It establishes how the behaviour of smaller states differs from the behaviour of larger states. The emphasis is on the behaviour of smaller states and whether they prioritize within the CAP and the Regional Policy. The chapter will provide an answer to the second hypothesis that:

smaller states prioritize within the Common Agricultural Policy and the Regional Policy. They concentrat~: only on issues within the CAP and the Regional Policy from which they gain considerable benefits.
