ABSTRACT
All change involves risk. Identity change inevitably involves some element of risk too. However, the decision to change or modify identity normally arises because changes in the organisation’s environment have provoked the organisation to reconsider its positioning. The identity change is one of the manifestations of change which the organisation has to undertake in order to survive successfully. This is the light in which risks should be regarded.
