ABSTRACT

So far we have been looking at profit and loss accounts and balance sheets prepared on the basis of accrual accounting. That means including revenues and expenditures when they arise, regardless of when the company receives or pays cash. In practice, however, company managers have to worry about cash as well as about profit or loss.
