ABSTRACT
This paper will investigate the nature of Iraq as a pivotal state in the Middle East. The pivotal affects of the Gulf War and of the fall of Iraq on some of the remittance sensitive (RS) countries and some of the oil sensitive (OS) countries in the Arab World will be analysed.
