ABSTRACT
The external competences of the European Union sit alongside those of the European Community and they are defined by Common Foreign and Security Policy as well as by the Policy and Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters.2 For this reason, the cooperation between the European Union and the International Criminal Court appears to be influenced by the complexity of EU external actions.
