The “European Social Model” reminds a bit of the joke about the wealth of commodities in the Moscow GUM shopping mall at the times of the Soviet Empire: “there is no food on the ground floor, no kitchenware on the first floor, and no clothes on the second. And if you are looking for no furniture, you will find it on the third floor.”
