ABSTRACT
In the age of the Internet I grow increasingly concerned about certain developments and terms that appear to overlap uncomfortably (at least for me). ese include “knowledge” and “information,” and the very use of computing technology. Let me say at the outset that I do not consider myself a Luddite. I have proclaimed more than once that in spite of doubts I regard the digitization of emblems to be the very future of emblem studies.
