[290] When Valencia had been taken, Ramon Folc de Cardona1 arrived. And, what with his relatives and his men, some fifty knights came with him. They said that, as they had not been at the siege, they besought us to permit them to make a raid through the lands of Murcia. And it pleased us that they should do so. With them they took Artal de Alagón,2 son of Don Blasco, who knew the land, because he had already been there. The first place they came upon to which they wished to do harm was Villena.3
