ABSTRACT
The fact that Manufacturing Complexity values are an empirical representation of the technology used in a product (along with the productivity of the manufacturing organization) is important. If the technology is held constant, then the only difference between two suppliers providing the same technology is the productivity of those organizations. The supplier with the lower Manufacturing Complexity will be the preferred supplier (see Figure 6.1).
