The place of Sir Christopher Wren in the history of structural engineering

Much has been written during the last few years on the work of Sir Christopher Wren,as artist,man of science,and public servant.He is entitled, however,in addition,to a place of honour in the history of structural engineering,and the purpose of this paper is to exhibit the evidence which should enable usto assess his merit in that respect.
